‘Nederland kampioen biodiversiteitsverlies’ (NOS 22 mei 2024).
Werk aan de winkel! We moeten ecosystemen herstellen, gebieden met elkaar verbinden, gebruik van bestrijdingsmiddelen terugdringen….
Ook op kleine schaal in (openbare) tuinen kunnen we keuzes maken die bijdragen aan biodiversiteitsherstel. Wat kun jij doen?
Investeer in biologisch gekweekte planten (o.a. Sprinklr, Cruydt Hoeck, Kwekerij van Houtum). Reguliere planten bevatten veel pesticiden die dodelijk zijn voor insecten.

Kies vaker voor inheemse planten, ze zijn essentieel als waardplant (zie bijvoorbeeld Vlinderstichting voor planten waarop vlinders eitjes afzetten). Er zijn zoveel mooie inheemse planten! 
Mijn favorieten: Silene vulgaris (Blaassilene), Sanguisorba officinalis (Pimpernel), Reseda lutea (wilde reseda).

Our future home and workspace is finally taking shape! It will become a so called ‘Passive house’ and with every building choice we aim for the most sustainable solution. A building based on the principles and ambitions that also form the basis for the architecture of JADE architecten and my landscape and garden designs . With this building we show that it is possible to build very energy-efficient, biobased, nature-inclusive and adaptable in the middle of the city. This building can be the start of a healthy city full of passive and affordable buildings!

Yesterday I received my garden design certificate. After a year of learning, inspiring excursions and design exams I’m ready to start as a garden designer (next to my work as a pattern designer).
