Nice article in the Volkskrant newspaper about heat-resistant buildings with our house as a positive example.
On hot days, not only the construction method but also our green patio contributes to a cooler indoor climate and the reduction of the urban heat island effect.
By using as many plants as possible (also vertically) there is more shade and the air is cooler. The ground cover of tree bark protects the floor from heating up and contributes to a cooler patio and also to cooler rooms below the patio.
